In a report submitted by District Engineer Salvador E. Abad to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, the newly completed project features a 15m x 27m covered court with a rubberized floor finish, complemented by a 9m x 7m stage equipped with two comfort rooms. The facility includes complete painting, electrical, and plumbing works, as well as a 38-meter steel fence along the right side of the court to ensure safety near the seashore.

A Venue for Community Growth

The new multi-purpose building serves as a vital space for Barangay Calero residents to gather for social, religious, political, health, and recreational activities. By offering a safe and accessible venue, the facility is expected to strengthen community ties, promote active lifestyles, and support local development initiatives.

District Engineer Abad emphasized that the project aligns with the DPWH’s goal of improving the quality of life in local communities through infrastructure that fosters engagement and resilience. The facility will also serve as a potential evacuation center during emergencies, adding another layer of protection for residents.

DPWH Broader Mission

Under the leadership of Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, DPWH MIMAROPA continues to implement projects that support sustainable development and community empowerment. The completion of the Calero Multi-Purpose Building is part of a broader initiative to upgrade public facilities that enhance accessibility, safety, and social cohesion throughout the region.
