Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl? NFL commissioner hints at ‘maybe’

New York NFL commissioner Roger Goodell teased, “maybe,” when asked if Taylor Swift would be the main act at the Super Bowl halftime show in February.

This left fans buzzing on September 3. Swifties and football fans were excited about the pop star possibly taking center stage at one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

During an appearance on NBC’s Today show, Goodell addressed speculation that the 14-time Grammy winner might perform at the NFL championship on February 8 in Santa Clara, California.

“We would always love seeing Taylor perform.”

“She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” he said the day before the 2025 NFL season started.

I can’t tell you anything about it,

Goodell said when questioned further about whether Swift was actually negotiating for the coveted halftime spot, which is regarded as America’s most-watched musical performance.

But when the interviewer questioned, “Is it a maybe? “It’s a maybe,” the commissioner said, giving fans the answer they had been hoping for. Given Swift’s massive fan base, known as Swifties, which extends well beyond typical football demographics, the NFL would be extremely fortunate to have her on board.

On August 26, Swift declared her engagement to Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. In August, she also revealed that The Life Of A Showgirl, her twelfth studio album, would be out on October 3.

Since she and Kelce began dating in 2023, the singer has attended a number of Chiefs games, including the last two Super Bowls.

With 133.5 million viewers, rapper Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl halftime performance was the most watched in the event’s history. Beyonce, Prince, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and The Rolling Stones are just a few of the well-known performers from the past.
