MANILA – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated around 25 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at ₱163.2 million and arrested three male suspects during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Masin Norte, Candelaria, Quezon on Friday.

In a news release issued Saturday, PDEA–National Capital Region Director Emerson Rosales identified the suspects as alias Jack, 42, and alias Nor, 31, both farmers from Zamboanga City; and alias Anor, 43, a tricycle driver from North Cotabato.

Authorities recovered one plastic pack of suspected shabu weighing approximately 1 kilogram, which was the subject of the sale, along with 24 additional packs weighing about 24 kilograms. Also seized during the operation were buy-bust money, a black Toyota Fortuner, two analog phones, one Android phone, and several identification cards.

The confiscated drugs and other evidence will be submitted to the PDEA Laboratory Service for forensic examination.

The arrested suspects are currently undergoing inquest proceedings for violations of Sections 5 (Selling of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensify anti-drug operations across the country as part of the government’s continuing campaign against illegal drugs.
